 FAQ's

What is rush?  Rush is a two week process, in which you attend different events, both professional and social.  These events are held so you can learn about our organization and meet people in Alpha Kappa Psi.  It is also a time for us to get to know you.

When do I become a pledge? If accepted into the program, third week of January

How do I get invited to pledge? First you must meet certain criteria. Must have a 2.0 GPA, be enrolled in classes and be in good standing with the University. We are a closed organization so you do have to be invited to pledge by the current Brothers.

Do I have to be a business major to join? You do not have to be a business major to join, but you need to have some kind of interest in the field of business

If I get invited to pledge, how much work is involved? We consider the pledge process to be like taking another class.

How long does the pledge process last? A semester

How much does it cost to be a member? It cost $210 to pledge and if you become a brother your dues go down to $150 per semester.

How many rush events do I need to go to? There is not a required number of rush events that you must attend.  Rush events are for your benefit so you can come out meet the brothers and ask questions.

 Testimonials

“Pledging AKpsi was a very rewarding experience in which I have gained many life skills and friends that I feel that I will know for a life time. Some advice that I think will make the pledge process more enjoyable and smoother is using your time wisely, be sociable and have the initiative to take on new challenges, because in the end, you ultimately gain from these experiences. Also, have fun with the people around you and feel free to work together. Good luck!" Nicholas Athanason

"Pledging Akpsi has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It is not for the faint of heart but the principles and values learned during the process will turn you into an exceptional individual. If you decide to pledge Akpsi take it seriously for the rewards are endless...." Benjamin Davis
